13:34 Repeatable pseudo-random number sequences weren't "developed" for this purpose. That's just how ALL pseudo-random number generators work. If you seed them with the same value, you get the same "random" number sequence back out. That's what makes them "pseudo" random number generators, and not random number generators.

This is just awesome! I really want to do something like this with my furniture cabinet TV from the 80s (still trying to find the right model). It had a pull on power/volume dial, a number pad, and a two-digit LED channel indicator and a fabric speaker cover. If I can't find that model in good repair or repairable, I do want to replicate it with the dial and number pad, an LCD monitor, and a raspberry pi to do TV emulation. If I manage to find a number pad and volume dial, could I ask you for some advice on how to hook that up to control the pi? And maybe use a remote control in addition?

Back in the '80s I had a computer called a Tandy Video Genie but I cant find this computer anywhere online, are you aware of this computer? It was labelled Tandy Video Genie and was bought from a Tandy store in England by my parents as a Christmas gift. It ran TRS-80 software on cassette. The Video Genies I have found online are EACA TRS-80 clones. For the bezel, matte black or carbon fibre PLA would be better as the layer lines are hidden and no sanding or filling is required.

I've been using this portable oscilloscope for 6 months now. Love the fact that it can provide me with a lot more information than I expected, especially when i work on site (35-40 degrees C)... it works good enough for a single channel oscilloscope and a multimeter... The only thing I can sort of complain about (if i have to) is the battery life... maybe it's a subjective thing depending on what you use it for and how long do you need it to work... mine work continuously for only 4 hours... so i carry a smartphone power bank with me to counter it... so if you're on a budget and wish to have a trusty portable oscilloscope... i highly recommended this

I used a TRS-80 when I was in college in the early 80s. I was studying the Basic Language and I had to wait in line at the college I attended. That was until I got my fist Commodore 64, my dad let me get the matching Screen and Diskette drive too. I then could head home and create my programs for the next day. Me and a friend created a program that helped kindergarten kids, I had my first daughter use it and she mastered it really quickly. When we brought her to start kindergarten, they had a meeting with us and told us, she was too smart for kindergarten, and they gave her a test and moved her to first grade. That changed her life. She was always younger than the kids in her class.

And yes I got a Tandy color computer - played on an RCA TV I think in my sister's room as her side had good sunlight into the day; we also played Downland; I actually used the cassette recorder for saving out of frustration for no pause button; saving wasn't as easy as playing game from Microsoft store; I just downloaded Dungeons of Daggorath; prior to this I just beat a 2nd run through on Dragon Wars

Man these macs have some miles on them! The first mac that i personally owned way back in 1994 and beyond, i wrote a lot of text on this thing, i became a writer for the school's journal, i wrote columns, funny stories i encountered, sadly, the connor hard drive in my Classic went bad and i moved over to a laptop, a pentium 2, because windows is more wide spread than macintosh, especially in those days, apple was struggling before Jobs came back, he did that AGAIN with the Rev C iMac G3, he eliminated the fan from that system as well, and guess what? All those macs failed or are in the process of failing, my G3 iMac is clicking (flyback) so it is on its last legs. Ashame really, i like that form factor.

The same problem applies to other products that Jobs had a hand in designing the case for. Note that he was not an engineer of any sort, but he was obsessed with having no fans and poor airflow. Going all the way back to the original Apple ][... Somebody had to talk him into adding air slits. The Apple /// is notorious for cooking itself, making working units very rare in collections. The Lisa suffers the exact same problems as the ///. The original NeXT Computer (pizza box, not cube) famously gets hot. etc. etc.

I purchased one. It’s reasonably logical and easy to use. The things I did not like. There seems to be some inbuilt noise on the oscilloscope traces which just does not go away. You can see the little noise blips on the scan shots in the presentation. The screen is curved and has right angled flat clear returns top and bottom. This causes unwanted reflections of the screen along the top and bottom edge. The manufacturer might have been better to use a flat slightly recessed screen with no clear returns. I found the oscilloscope probes were a firm fit on the top connectors and took a bit to remove. Zoyi provided a tool to adjust the probe calibration. A nice touch. I thought the “case” supplied was of poor quality. The case should have been made of better quality plastic and should have had a separate pouch for probes to avoid the possibility of probes scratching the screen if in the same pouch as the oscilloscope. Might be a good idea to try to purchase a better case. The good thing about a portable scope is you can test circuits which should not be earthed. A bench oscilloscope has grounded earth clips on the probes and the only way to measure non earthed circuits is to use a differential probe and these cost much more than the Zoyi 703s The zotektools website provides firmware updates and instructions how to update. That’s good. For the price you cannot go wrong!

That's not a Gate Array board. The GA board has the floppy and RS-232 interfaces built in and doesn't use the flat, laminated cables at the top of the board. However, the GA boards came with a green screen while the non-GA boards came with white so it looks like someone replaced either the motherboard or the CRT at some point.
